GRAVEL DRIVEWAYS IN CONNECTICUT

We build gravel driveways on a base made to hold through all seasons

Holmstead Outdoor Services (HOS) repairs existing driveway bases, adds stone where needed, and regrades surfaces for better drainage. We also install new gravel driveways, parking areas, turnarounds, and access roads for residential and rural properties in Litchfield County and throughout Connecticut.

A failing gravel driveway is not always fixed by adding another load of stone. We look at the base, grade, drainage, and surface condition first, then recommend whether the driveway can be reclaimed or needs to be rebuilt.

Gravel Driveway Installation and Repair Capabilities

A gravel driveway is only as strong as the material beneath the surface. For new gravel driveway installation, we excavate to the appropriate depth, install geotextile fabric where conditions call for it, and build the sub-base and base in compacted layers to create a stable foundation.

HOS then grades and crowns the finished surface so water drains away instead of collecting in the driveway. Proper base construction and drainage help reduce ruts, potholes, washouts, and recurring repairs, giving the driveway a cleaner finish and better long-term performance.
